A microservices platform on AWS that allows candidates to pre-validate their credentials, making recruitment more reliable, agile, and secure from the first contact.

The Challenge

Hiring processes face a recurring and costly problem: verifying candidate information. Studies indicate that approximately 57% of resumes contain false or incomplete data, forcing recruitment teams to dedicate significant time and resources to manual checks. A group of consultants with backgrounds at organizations like Accenture, PwC, and IBM identified this gap and sought to create a solution that inverted this logic. The idea was to allow candidates to pre-validate their credentials before entering selection processes. The technical challenge was to develop a secure, scalable platform integrated with multiple data sources, capable of performing automated verifications without compromising sensitive data protection.

The Tecnology

BIX Tecnologia developed a comprehensive solution based on a microservices architecture on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The platform was built with Next.js for the frontend, FastAPI (Python) for the backend, and DynamoDB as the database, with infrastructure provisioned via Terraform and hosted on AWS Amplify and ECS Fargate. The solution includes ten independent microservices, each with a defined responsibility: identity and document verification, work authorization, employment history, educational validation, criminal records, and protection of sensitive data (SSN, passport, driver's license). All sensitive data is stored in a private subnet with encryption via AWS KMS.

Integrations: AU10TIX for facial recognition and real-time ID validation; InfoMart for criminal, educational, and employment background checks.

Security: Authentication managed by Auth0 (with MFA), protected by AWS WAF and AWS Shield, with continuous monitoring via Snyk and Sentry.

Quality Assurance: CI/CD pipelines including unit tests (Jest), end-to-end tests (Cypress), load testing (JMeter), and accessibility checks (Axe).

Results

The platform allows candidates to validate their information before entering hiring cycles, creating verified profiles for recruiters. Consequently, HR teams now make hiring decisions faster and more securely, reducing operational costs and increasing data reliability. The project also expanded BIX Tecnologia's technical expertise in Event-Driven Architecture and cloud security within an international collaboration context involving teams in Brazil, the United States, and Australia.
